Catalytic converter: Flauraud stock
The catalytic converter is a part of the vehicle’s depollution system in the same way as the related particulate filter is in recent diesel vehicles.
It forms part of the exhaust line and its goal is to reduce the toxicity of the exhaust gas released by the vehicle.
Loss of power, noise and vibrations in the exhaust line, excessive fumes: these problems can be due to the catalytic converter. The risk of not replacing it is the loss of engine output, excessive fuel consumption, or even a failed technical inspection due to the increase of pollution from the vehicle. The catalytic converter should be changed every 120,000 to 160,000 km.
